1  India wins Elections to crucial NGO Committee in UN:-

  • It topped the election held by the committee on non-governmental organisations in Asia Pacific state category.
  • India got 46 votes followed by Pakistan 43 votes,Bahrain 40 votes and China 39 votes.

2  India to Grow at 7.4% in 2018 IMF:-

  • IMF has stated that India is expected to grow at the rate of 7.4% in 2018 and 7.8% in 2019 and it would be fastest growing economy in the period.
  • IMF explained this is due to the Strong private consumption as well as economy recovers from the effects of the demonetization and implementation of GST.

3   World Heritage Day is celebrated on 18th April :-

  • World heritage day is celebrated to create the awareness about the heritage among the communities.

  • In India this day celebrated at National Rail Museum,New Delhi.
  • There are 36 heritage sites in India as designated by the UNESCO.

4  Ministry of communication launched DARPAN-PLI App :-

  • Minister of communication Manoj Sinha launch DARPAN(Digital Advancement of Rural Post Office for a New India)-PLI app,which help in collection of premium for Postal Life Insurance and Rural Postal Life Insurance policies at branch post office  any where in India with online updation of the policies.

5   Commerce minister launches digital platform for MSMEs exporters :-

  • Commerce and industry minister launched the federation of Indian Export Organisation (FIEO) Global Linker platform for MSME exporters New Delhi.
  • The aim of this move is to micro small and medium enterprises engaged in Exports.

6   Odissa second longest river bridge open :-

  1. The much awaited Bridge “Ib Setu” built over the “Ib river” in Sambalpur district inaugurated by CM Naveen Patnaik.
  • The length of bridge is 2.5 km which is the second longest bridge in state has built in 3 years at a cost of rupees 117.50 crore.
  • It help to establish direct connectivity between Sambalpur and Brajarajnagar and distance has now been reduced by 50 km.

7   M o u signed between GIFAS from and SIDM India :-

  • Society of Indian defence manufacturers (SIDAM) and groupment des industries francis aeronautiques et spatiales(GIFAS) signs MoU on the sideline of the major industrial mission in India.
  • This is in the field of Defence aerospace organised by GIFAS with the support of SIDM.

8  India wisden conference 2018 held in New Delhi :-

  • The ministry of external affairs in cooperation with the Government of Germany and United Nation office for disarmament affairs posted the India visited in conference 2018 in New Delhi.
  •  Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and industry (FICCI) was the industry partner of the event
    Theme:-” securing Global supply chain through government industry partnership towards effective implementation of you and SC resolution 1540″.

9  Bisket jatra being celebrated in Nepal :-

  • It is believed that the festival started during Malla dynasty full. Bisket Jatra is celebrated in Bhaktapur and other parts of Kathmandu Valley.
  • 9 day annual festival make as beginning of Nepali new year.
